Sometimes very active discussions about peripheral issues overwhelm a thread, so this is a permanent home for those conversations.

I’ve opened a new “Sandbox” thread as a post as the new “ignore commenter” plug-in only works on threads started as posts.

  1. phoodoo,

I was agreeing with you about Republicans, but I am glad to see that that faux pas has not changed your opinion of me, which I do cherish.
I think your .1% number is a little off, and I have never defended Laurene Jobs, Jeff Bezos or Mark Zuckerberg. Jeff and Mark are definitely gits.
Mackenzie Tuttle/Bezos/Scott/Jewett, on the other hand… I think she’s cool.

  2. DNA_Jock: I think your .1% number is a little off,

You don’t know that. What Bill Gate’s total wealth? Its not how much money he has in the bank right now you know? How much has he earned just this year? How much has he spent on play things in the last twenty years? I guess you can’t tell me that either. So for all you know it is only .1 percent. Or 1%. Or let’s be generous to Bill (another fake Democrat who loves Republican taxes) and say maybe he has given away 5% of his wealth so far. I guess he is waiting until he and his wife die, and then on his gravestone he can write what a generous guy he was, only spending 100 billion dollars on himself before he finally had nothing left to do, so he gave his children a billion each and then, boy was he a savior. For the richest person on Earth ever.

But it sounds like you would still like to defend him, fake capitalist Democrat.

  3. OMagain: And anyway, you realize that you’d still be better off in the USA vs China for life expectancy right now?
    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-lifespan-idUSKCN1IV15L
In terms of overall life expectancy China is also catching up with the United States, which Reuters calculations suggest it is on course to overtake around 2027.

So to be clear, it seems the worst in that list you quoted is still better then China’s best.

    Great self own phoodoo!

    From YOUR article:

China overtakes U.S. for healthy lifespan: WHO data
    By Tom Miles

GENEVA (Reuters) – China has overtaken the United States in healthy life expectancy at birth for the first time, according to World Health Organization data.

Chinese newborns can look forward to 68.7 years of healthy life ahead of them, compared with 68.5 years for American babies, the data – which relates to 2016 – showed.

American newborns can still expect to live longer overall – 78.5 years compared to China’s 76.4 – but the last 10 years of American lives are not expected to be healthy.

“The lost years of good health that are a factor in calculating healthy life expectancy at birth are lower for China, Japan, Korea and some other high income Asian countries than for high income ‘Western’ countries,” said WHO spokeswoman Alison Clements-Hunt.

The United States was one of only five countries, along with Somalia, Afghanistan, Georgia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, where healthy life expectancy at birth fell in 2016, according to a Reuters analysis of the WHO data, which was published without year-on-year comparisons in mid-May.

Ha. Somalia and Afghanistan? Wow, not bad. Well, considering the US pretty much owns those places as well, I guess it makes sense.

Self-own? You are not even British are you? You just like their humor.

  4. Conclusions, phoodoo?

Being in my eighth decade now, I reflect on what may happen as age and infirmity catch up with me. There are choices over what I eat and drink, exercise and whether to angst over them. Is there also a political choice? Does socialism make me healthier or does capitalism allow me to make unhealthy choices and let me indulge them?

  5. phoodoo: Ha. Somalia and Afghanistan? Wow, not bad. Well, considering the US pretty much owns those places as well, I guess it makes sense.

Self-own? You are not even British are you? You just like their humor.

If you could read you’d notice that those places and the USA had expectancy fall, that’s all.
However the USA is still ahead of China, regardless of the other countries it happens to be in the ‘falling’ group with.

I notice you did not comment on this: China’s infant mortality rate (8.996) is alongside countries such as Lebanon (9.114) and Turkey (7.922). Russia, Serbia, Cuba all do much better.

    Lebanon and Turkey?

China beaten by Russia and Serbia at keeping babies alive?

No, no self own here. Just your inability to read.

This technological progress leads to a large excess of male births.[23] About 37–45% of China’s missing females may have been missing at birth.[24] According to China Statistics Press 2013, the sex ratio at birth in China was 111 in 1990, 117 in 2001, 121 in 2005 and slightly declined to 119 in 2010

It’s likely China is better at keeping males alive then females too which probably affects those mortality figures.

  6. phoodoo: Sorry, still can’t tell you how I know. Its drives you crazy doesn’t it?

    No it does not.

    A) PSI don’t exist. Every single claimant is a con artist or delusional. This has been demonstrated over and over again for anyone who is paying attention.

    B) The FBI’s use of PSI has been well documented over the years. They tried it, it did not work.

This woman claims to be the first physic to work with the FBI: https://psi-encyclopedia.spr.ac.uk/articles/noreen-renier

    And yet: https://go.gale.com/ps/anonymous?id=GALE%7CA503310502&sid=googleScholar&v=2.1&it=r&linkaccess=abs&issn=03609936&p=AONE&sw=w

Six years and numerous dead-ends later, in October 1995 the Halifax Regional Police hired famed “psychic detective” Noreen Renier in the hopes that her paranormal abilities, endorsed by such notables as legendary FBI Special Agent Robert Ressler (coiner of the term “serial killer”), might lend some needed direction to their efforts. And if the number of directions in which she led them is any measure, they got their money’s worth!

Suffice to say, nothing good came of it.

    C) Nobody believes you in the first place, that you even possibly could have such knowledge. After all, you are the most knowledgeable person in the world about your particular job, you have a special realm were you make true free will decisions and you know that fitness is defined circularlary. You believe that Uri Geller has PSI powers.

In short, you are an unreliable witness outside of your sphere of expertiese. I.E anything at all.

So no, it does not drive me crazy. I know what I know and I know you will say anything you might think will drive someone like me crazy. But it won’t work. You are just a chew-toy. Nothing more, nothing less. The FBI does not use PSI. I know it, you know it, you just pretend otherwise because you are merely a troll who can’t make an actual argument.

  7. And what is the chance that someone who has inside knowledge of the FBI and it’s secrets (as publicly they deny PSI these days) is living in China of all places!

It’s clear you judge how stupid people are, phoodoo, by using yourself as a benchmark.

Perhaps I should let the FBI know this is happening? That a person living in China is happy to spill a little bit of a FBI secret as a teaser, I’m sure that’s as much of a crime as telling all.

  8. phoodoo: Or let’s be generous to Bill (another fake Democrat who loves Republican taxes) and say maybe he has given away 5% of his wealth so far.

Whoever thinks socialism is compatible with Christianity is an imbecile that cannot read a history book.

Whoever thinks the American oligarchs give money to the Satanist party because they’re “fake” Satanists is an imbecile.

Whoever thinks taking from the poor and the entrepreneurs alike to give to the parasitic and corrupt class of the Obamas, Clintons and Pelosis that have not created ONE thing, yet are millionaires many times over is an imbecile.

Whoever wants to force the whole population into socialism instead of fucking off into their own kibbutz and leaving the rest of us alone is an asshole and an imbecile.

Whoever thinks the poor need a handout from the parasitic class instead of the freedom to create and work wherever they chose is an imbecile that doesn’t see the destruction of American cities, families, and history wherever the satanic leftist party rules.

  9. Nonlin.org,

Really? And that’s what Jesus said?

I am going to take a wild stab of a guess here. Your father was not a very nice man?

    Call it a hunch.

  10. Nonlin.org,

The ten most liberal countries in the world :

    1.NewZealand
    2.Switzerland
    3.Canada
    4.Australia
    5.Norway
    6.Sweden
    7.Luxembourg
    8.Finland
    9.Netherlands
    10.Ireland

Oh those poor poor poor citizens.

Why can’t they be more like America. So sad.

  11. Nonlin.org: Whoever thinks the poor need a handout from the parasitic class instead of the freedom to create and work wherever they chose is an imbecile that doesn’t see the destruction of American cities, families, and history wherever the satanic leftist party rules.

Except that’s simply not true anymore.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-echochambers-27074746

Policy is driven by the rich, not the poor. So the poor don’t get to create and work wherever they choose.

    https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2020/09/social-mobility-upwards-decline-usa-us-america-economics/

The key takeaway, though, is that the starting point of this downward trend has shifted to the left. In other words, fewer people in the lower- and middle-classes are climbing the economic ladder.

However the GOP has done a great job of brainwashing people like you.

  12. phoodoo: Really? And that’s what Jesus said?

Apparently you have no idea what Jesus said. Hint: “GIVE” and “FORGIVE”! Not “take”! And most certainly not “take by force”!

phoodoo: The ten most liberal countries in the world :

Fuck them. The deal with Satan temporarily pays off… If you’re a soulless zombie that is.

Meanwhile they turned their churches into bars, they euthanize the old and infirm, kill the unborn, and force the worldwide poor to follow their imbecile and dehumanizing policies.

Alan Fox: I wonder whether anyone has drawn any connection between Jesus and socialism as a political ideology.

Practice socialism VOLUNTARILY in your own kibbutz or monastery and you’re following Jesus. Force others into socialism and you’re following Satan.

More so when in the first case you give your surplus to the poor while in the second case you take from the poor to feed the parasitic government.

OMagain: Policy is driven by the rich, not the poor. So the poor don’t get to create and work wherever they choose.

And that’s what needs to change. But the satanists that have been taking over the world – and now America – don’t want that.

OMagain: However the GOP has done a great job of brainwashing people like you.

Fuck the GOP. And especially the GOP of the bushes, mcstain and romneys.

    Corneel,

What can I do when the profile fits?

  13. I wonder when did “sell your possessions and give to the poor,” or “Sell everything you have and give to the poor,” started to mean “give only your surplus.” Maybe that’s the gospels according to Nonlin. Not canonized yet, but soon.

  14. Nonlin.org: Meanwhile they turned their churches into bars, they euthanize the old and infirm, kill the unborn, and force the worldwide poor to follow their imbecile and dehumanizing policies.

The funny thing is that over here, in Europe (well, ex now) we often look at your lot with bemused horror. The obsession with the unborn, the abandonment of them once born, the gun fetish and so on. People convinced that their lucky streak is just around the corner. People not wearing masks and infecting others on the basis of a political opinion. Somewhat amazing.

Churches are turning into bars because blind faith is being grown out of. The church is fading away somewhat, and good riddance. Mostly. There are good and bad people on boths sides of course. Priests I personally know are fine people. I grew up RC.

How many unwanted babies have you adopted nonlin?

  15. Nonlin.org: Force others into socialism and you’re following Satan.

I said nothing about force and Satan is a myth to frighten children.

  16. Alan Fox: I wonder whether anyone has drawn any connection between Jesus and socialism as a political ideology.

Martin Luther King Jr. explicitly grounded his socialism in his Christian faith. The connection is also crucial for Latin American liberation theology.

Alan Fox: Is the Cato Institute a reliable source?

They are libertarian, but they are respectable. They’re not going to distort the facts in order to fit their ideology as badly as The Heritage Foundation, American Enterprise Institute, or the Heartland Institute.

OMagain: Policy is driven by the rich, not the poor. So the poor don’t get to create and work wherever they choose.

Yes. Neither major political party nor their representatives in the media care at all about the poor. They’ll feign concern for “the middle class,” but when it comes to people who are working-class, they don’t want to give those people freedom and dignity — anyone who isn’t middle-class deserves more surveillance, more monitoring, more degradation, more humiliation, and more punishment.

  17. DNA_Jock,

I will reserve judgement on how “cool” Mackenzie Scott is until she does something actually cool.

She has given away a few billion dollars-yet as of today she is still worth 55 billion dollars. All because she, well, she got married.

She signed the “Giving Pledge”, which sounds like she took a page right out of the Gates/Zuckerberg/ Jobs playbook. The reality is that the “giving pledge” is nothing more than an advertisement for the individual telling everyone how great they are going to be one day-that day of course is probably going to be when they are dead. They all claim they are going to give away most of their wealth “either” before they die, or after, maybe, don’t hold me to it.

You know who is ACTUALLY cool? Chuck Feeney. Most average Americans have never heard of him. I wonder why that is? One reason for that may be because the name of his charitable organization is not called the Chuck Feeney Foundation. How many times have you heard the name the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation-which was a merging of the William H. Gates Foundation and the Gates Learning Foundation, (not to be confused with the Gates Cambridge Scholarships, nor the William H. Gates Public Service Law Program, or the Gates Center for Computer Science, or the William H. Gates building at MIT, nor to be confused with the The Maxwell Dworkin Laboratory-which is named after his mother, , which of course is not to be confused with the William Gates building at Carnegie Mellon, which we should confuse with the William H. Gates building at Stanford, which we definitely shouldn’t confuse with the William H. Gates building at Cambridge. It goes without saying that those are not the William H. Gates building at University of Texas, which is DEFINITELY NOT the William and Melinda Gates Hall at Cornell, nor is it the Bill & Melinda Gates Center for Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Washington, OF COURSE! ).

Instead you know what Chuck Feeney has done? He has given away 8 billion dollars of his 8 billion dollars, ALL while he is still alive. He has only kept 2 million dollars of his total fortune, and lives in a modest rented apartment in San Francisco. That means he has given away 375,000% more money than his current net worth. He has no cars. He owns no houses. He wears a $10 watch. He has no buildings named after him. He only travels coach. He doesn’t pay 30 million dollars for writings by DaVinci, so he can tell people he owns writings by DaVinci (well, more for Bill then). He isn’t the largest owner of farmland in the country (Gates is) and the name of his charity is (was, he used all the money for actual charity) Atlantic Philanthropies.

That’s what cool looks like Jock.

  18. “Chuck Feeney is a true pioneer. Spending down his resources during his lifetime has inspired a generation of philanthropists, including me. And his dedication to anonymous giving—and focus on addressing the problems of the day—reflect the strength of his character and social conscience. WE ALL FOLLOW IN HIS FOOTSTEPS.”

Laurene Powell Jobs: Founder and President, Emerson Collective

    Oh do we, Laurene?

In late 2014, Ms. Powell paid $16,300,000 for a 10-acre equestrian estate in tony Los Altos Hills

In April 2015, Ms. Powell dropped a dumbfounding $44,000,000 in cash on an unfinished bluff top compound that looms over Malibu’s sublime Paradise Cove neighborhood. Two years later, as Yolanda first told y’all, she forked over another $16,500,000 to buy the little house next door, which she is combining with the larger parcel to create one mega-estate.

For all you beancounters, that means Ms. Powell has already spent $60,500,000 in Malibu. And that does not include the many millions she is spending to create a customized multi-acre spread up there.

In 2016, Ms. Powell spent $15,300,000 on a 3-acre estate in the equestrian-oriented (and wealthy) Palm Beach County community of Wellington, Florida.

The Florida estate happens to be directly across the street from a much larger compound owned by Bill Gates.

In addition to her $130 million worth of residential real estate, Ms. Powell also lays claim to several other big gurl toys. These include at least two Gulfstream jets, one of them a $65 million G650, and a $100 million superyacht co-designed by her late hubby and christened “Venus”.

    https://www.dirt.com/moguls/tech/laurene-powell-jobs-san-francisco-house-11794/

“We all follow in his footsteps.” How dare you? Laurene Powell-Seriously go fuck yourself!

  19. Like I said already phoodoo

I think your .1% number is a little off, and I have never defended Laurene Jobs, Jeff Bezos or Mark Zuckerberg.

Chuck Feeney is very impressive, I agree. But before you get too carried away, it took him 38 years to ‘pay down’ his fortune, so (according to phoodoo-math (r) ) he only gave away 2.6% of his wealth on average.
More to the point, he gave $280,000 to Sinn Fein, pre-Good Friday, back when they were still breaking ceasefires.
    Nobody’s perfect.

  20. I just occurred to me, even the company where Gates earned most of his money is eponymous.

It was his nickname in college.

Alaska summit: China accuses US of ‘slaughtering’ Black Americans as first talks of Biden era descend into public squabble
The strain in the relations between the US and China was on public display during the opening session of the Alaska summit on Thursday as top officials of the two countries traded angry barbs.

Looks like phoodoo was trialling their next move all along! Presumably it polled well phoodoo, so it looks like the government are going with it. Did you get a bonus?

I wonder what phoodoo’s next play will be, and how long after that till we read about it in the press.

  22. Atheists are preaching Christianity to Christians! It’s the end of the world.

OMagain: How many unwanted babies have you adopted nonlin?

Oh. So killing them takes care of the adoption issue then? Abysmal eurothinking at work.

Corneel: I guess you could try to act like a nice and friendly person.

I donate part of my time to you, ain’t I?

  23. DNA_Jock: I was agreeing with you about Republicans, but I am glad to see that that faux pas has not changed your opinion of me, which I do cherish.
I think your .1% number is a little off, and I have never defended Laurene Jobs, Jeff Bezos or Mark Zuckerberg. Jeff and Mark are definitely gits.

So you completely misread my supposed danger to TSZ. You could differentiate yourself by admitting your error. But you won’t. Because you are no different.

  24. Erik: How about the GOP of Trump?

Outsider’s view, I can’t imagine enough people will fall for Trump’s schtick a second time. The Republican party, or enough members who control policy, seem to think they still need him. I hope they continue to believe that as it’s the best way to ensure they stay out of power.

ETA I guess as he wasn’t re-elected he’s had his second chance. Are Republicans that stupid to allow him a third?

  25. Mung: So you completely misread my supposed danger to TSZ.

It wouldn’t be the first time people can’t make sense of your gnomic utterances. You seem to delight in not being clear and you also seem morbidly fearful of clarifying. I could be wrong.

  26. Nonlin.org: Oh. So killing them takes care of the adoption issue then? Abysmal eurothinking at work.

So I’ll take that to mean ‘none’ then. You want to force people to birth unwanted children but don’t want to take any responsibility for them yourself.

  27. Nonlin.org: Oh. So killing them takes care of the adoption issue then? Abysmal eurothinking at work.

The funny thing is, if anything is funny here, is that nonlin apparently does not know how numbers work.

Abortion rates are 12 per 1000 in Western Europe (including France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland). Whereas the abortion rate in the USA was 13.5 in 2017.

So Europe, with it’s actual sex education and somewhat more respect for women’s autonomy already has and has for a long time had a lower abortion rate then the USA.

But actual facts don’t seem to matter to you do they?

  28. OMagain: You want to force people to birth unwanted children but don’t want to take any responsibility for them yourself.

Killing the “unwanted” is a basic Satanic rite (they call it “a right”).

As if we had a crisis of adoption and the only and “final solution” would be to “not birth” meaning ‘KILL’ the “unwanted”.

The only crisis of adoption is the countless childless couples unable to adopt because of the onerous satanic rules and regulations.

OMagain: Abortion rates are 12 per 1000 in Western Europe (including France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland). Whereas the abortion rate in the USA was 13.5 in 2017.

What a stupid thing to say! As if the Euro satanists are any different that the American satanists.

  29. Nonlin.org: Killing the “unwanted” is a basic Satanic rite (they call it “a right”).

We actually have two issues here: Whether the process should be done, and who gets to decide whether the process should be done.

As far as I can tell, nonlin’s answers are
The process should never be done
NONLIN and ONLY NONLIN should make other peoples’ decisions for them. And god forbid other people should EVER force a decision on nonlin that he objects to. If it weren’t for double standards, nonlin would have no standards at all.

  30. Nonlin.org: The only crisis of adoption is the countless childless couples unable to adopt because of the onerous satanic rules and regulations.

    ROFL.
Last time I checked, the reason all those childless couples were unable to adopt is because they insist on getting a healthy, white, newborn. Forgo any one of those requirements, and I think supply still exceeds demand. The ‘onerous satanic rule’ is that one is not allowed to buy or sell another human being. This is considered taboo, apparently, for historical reasons.

  31. Alan Fox,

Yes, I too am having trouble figuring out the connection between my low opinion of Bezos and Zuckerberg and the inaccuracy of my low opinion of Mung. Perhaps he will clarify.

  32. DNA_Jock: ROFL.

According to the adoption network, there are between 1 and 2 million couples waiting to adopt, and there are about 110,000 foster children eligible for adoption. About 4% of newborns from unwanted pregnancies (because abortion is getting very hard for poor people to obtain) are put up for adoption. About 135,000 children are adopted each year, so the number of eligible children has remained pretty steady for a while. About 40% of adopted children are not of their adopting parents’ race, culture or ethnic identification.

There is a maze of rules and regulations concerning adoption, covering Birth Father Rights, Home Study Requirements, Criminal Background Checks, and
Parental Right Termination Laws. These vary depending on the state. So it takes time to adopt, but the nannystate regulators consider it important that, for example, child molesters are weeded out. Prospective adoptive parents also must meet solvency, stability, and other suitability requirements. In most states same-sex couples are now able to adopt, provided they meet all the other criteria.

  33. Flint: The process should never be done
NONLIN and ONLY NONLIN should make other peoples’ decisions for them.

    The “decision” to kill others?!?

What else do you want to decide? When and whom to rape? When and how to commit genocide? Fucking monsters!

DNA_Jock: The ‘onerous satanic rule’ is that one is not allowed to buy or sell another human being.

“Better kill them” you say?!? Ditto!

DNA_Jock: Yes, I too am having trouble figuring out the connection between my low opinion of Bezos and Zuckerberg and the inaccuracy of my low opinion of Mung.

Apparently everyone has a “low opinion” of the oligarchs. But why? Are they not satanic enough? Have they not donated enough to the satanist party? Don’t you appreciate them for what they accomplished? Or perhaps that’s the merit of the Obama parasites because… “you didn’t built that”? Contrary to popular belief, I do see shades of gray even among the satanists.

Flint: According to the adoption network, there are between 1 and 2 million couples waiting to adopt, and there are about 110,000 foster children eligible for adoption.

    No problem then.

And if it were a problem? Say the numbers were reversed. Then what? The fucking stupid parasitic government can shelter former lab animals but cannot take care of the “undesirable” babies and kills them instead?!? WTF insanity!

  34. Nonlin.org: The “decision” to kill others?!?

I understand you are fanatically against this procedure, and THEREFORE consider yourself uniquely qualified to use the powers of the government to force others to agree with you.

Some nations require abortions. Some nations prohibit abortion. And America does neither one, leaving the decision to those who value freedom and liberty. Perhaps you would be more comfortable living in a nation with Sharia law, where you would be executed for plenty of things you take for granted here. But by golly, abortion is illegal. Those who violate this law are put to death!

What was that about the decision to kill others?
