    I’d say a better example of desperation is not attempting to look at the results of such searches and see if they are indeed examples for the evidence or theory of evolution or just dismissing them outright, unseen.

    Evolution is imperfectly understood and there are many strands currently and much active debate. For someone operating at your level, the definition of the theory of evolution I just quoted in the other thread is perfectly adequate. As you learn and understand more, more subties in the various positions will become apparent.

    The fact that you think there is not a single “theory of evolution” just illustrates your lack of understanding. There are common elements to all theories of evolution. You are not yet capable of understanding that, so you perceive an active healthy area science to be meaningless because there are still open questions.

    All life on Earth is connected and related to each other,” and this diversity of life is a product of “modifications of populations by natural selection, where some traits were favored in an environment over others”. That’s the theory of evolution for someone at your level.

    As you learn and grow, there will be those able to support you on that journey of understanding.

    Or you could just repeat the same things over and over again for literally decades despite being corrected nearly every time. Up to you.

    These two scandals are blowing up the internet. Reddit has already banned the pizzagate thread; twitter banned the person who uncovered the twitter scandal. It seems that both the head of Reddit and Twitter are involved. Warning: this is about the most disturbing and sickening shit I’ve ever run across, and that’s coming from a functioning sociopath that has little to no empathy for people he doesn’t know.

    The linked videos are initial primers into the scandals. They’re the entry point into a very deep and dark rabbit hole. Investigate at your own peril.

  19. I’ve looked at them a lot. I spent seven years working in protective services and encountered several instances where large institutions (mega-churches) protected child sexual abusers. In those cases it was the congregation doing the protecting.

    I have several disparate thoughts.

    One is that institutions that have custody of children — even temporarily, such as churches, schools, foster homes, and yes, charitable organizations that work in third world countries — attract predators. If there is no independent supervision, there will be abuse.

    Second, I’ve looked at some of the Podesta emails and cannot figure out an innocent translation of some of them. Particularly odd is the reference to finding a pizza related map on someone’s handkerchief. And hot tub parties involving young children as entertainment. As an inducement to attend the party, it is promised that the children will be in the tub.

    Third, I find the “investigators” to be completely undisciplined and prone to drawing unwarranted conclusions. Nothing will come of it unless Some major newspaper or network makes a serious investigation.

    But then, how long did it take for the media to take child abuse in the Catholic Church seriously? Why does it continue? What happened to Sinéad O’Connor When she made her public protest on Saturday Night Live? How many journalists supported her?

  23. So I’m watching the pizzagate video, and the first question I have regarding these putative code-words is: How the hell do they know what they mean? This is merely asserted. cheese = little girl … says who? How do they know this? It’s overflowing in unproven assertions and utter irrelevancy, which I suppose if I was lunacy-inclined I’d have to connect myself into some grandiose plot.
    It starts off with some “oooh, scary influence” pictures of John Podesta with Bill Clinton, Obama, Hillary and the Pope, and I’m left wondering so fucking what? He has toys and teddy bears in his home despite not having children? So do I, because I’m visited by friends and siblings of mine have children.

    What is this conspiracy horseshit? Have you utterly lost your fucking mind?

    Well, I appreciate that you don’t dismiss it out of hand. My initial reaction was that it must be either a purely invented attack in the name of ideological warfare or just more of your standard pa*****lia that crops up in Washington every now and then like Dennis Hastert and Jeffrey Epstein. Then I read the Wikileaks emails and pa*****lia turned out to be just the tip of the iceberg. Major players on both sides of the aisle and in top offices of the media and major celebrities are implicated. Investigating further just made me physically ill. The evidence is pretty blatant – you have to really try to stretch the evidence to find innocent explanations, especially when you consider Anthony Weiner, Epstein, and others involved.

    I actually wish I had never found out about any of this. Not really a moral obligation I want to be saddled with.

  34. I haven’t seen any of the videos. I don’t generally watch videos. I have no opinion regarding specific people or specific businesses.

    But I have noted over the years that institutions can and do protect child molesters, and it is very rare for any mainstream media to take interest.

    Investigations are very difficult. During my work in protective services, I was never assigned to a sex abuse case (I am male, and such cases were assigned to female workers), but at least half a dozen turned into sex abuse cases in the course of supervision. In one case, a girl had made repeated pleas to teachers and school counselors before she turned violent and could no longer be ignored.

    Failure of a teacher or therapist to report claims of abuse is a felony in my state, and yet it it is common.
