There have been two recent OPs by J-Mac that contained material that misrepresented the views of another person so I agree caution is warranted.
This case is different, imo, in that he is providing actual quotes. Can’t we assume that the quotes come from the linked video?

I have a question regarding the current status of TSZ: Who is in charge?
I have realized that the ID vs the rest need a decent forum moderated by someone as unbiased as possible to attract good quality scientists on both sides of the controversy… TSZ doesn’t have it and PS turned out to be dragon’s den…
Does anybody have any ideas what could be done to attacked quality scientists to feel comfortable to post here and have the guarantee/control that they will not be dragged into the mud?

Also, it is informative to read these quotes in context. You would look better if you provided it.

Just to make it clear where I stand. I think we, as moderators/admins, have Elizabeth’s blessing to make changes as we see fit. A pattern of misrepresentation of views of others in OPs is not something we should condone.
One alternative to asking people to provide references would be to require them to make clear that they are offering their own opinion about what someone else believes.

Can you make it a tad less personal. That is criticize content rather than persons.
Two examples. You mention propagandizing, then give a list of names. If you omit the list of names, it would be less of a personal attack. And then, later (2nd example) you comment on Eric’s intent. But you cannot actually know his intent. At best you can infer it, but with no certainty that the inference is correct.
I did a minor fix on html tags — you entered “strong” tags in the visual editor rather than the text/code editor. You can use the “B” icon/tool to bold in the visual editor.
Hey, I think there should be two new forums. The first (“Godot”) should contain only posts by Lizzie regarding how she’ll be back soon–with those that give a date certain having priority. I recognize that some of those posts are several years old, but all should be pinned, because it’s her site.
The second new forum should be culled from Moderation and called “Important News.” It should consist solely of drafts and discussion of RULES CHANGES that are soon to drop. They provide good lessons in time and trouble wasting, and I don’t see how it can be a good thing to let them slide farther and farther toward oblivion.
Maybe it would be good to invite Keitrick back to make a new OP (to be pinned) there. But if he/they/it is/are interested, it should be made clear that this post must be at least 10,000 words.
