The Theistic Mind and Global Warming

Over at UD, pav posted a chart and claimed that it proves that AGW does not exist. Without getting into a discussion about AGW, I am interested to see if the theists here interpret this chart differently than the atheists. And if they do, why?

  1. TristanM: Indeed, we are well outside the range of natural variability. The only other known precendents in the Earth’s history for warming as rapid as we’ve observed over the past couple centuries were catastrophic geological events.

And when you consider how long it took for that carbon to be sequestered away in coal and oil deposits and how little time it has taken us to release it back into the atmosphere… I’m just staggered when some people cannot or refuse to join the dots.

How Can Anyone Be Serious about AGW?

Pav: “I encourage people to go to “The Galileo Movement” for more information. [Aptly named organization since recent scholarship reveals that the single biggest reason the Church rejected Galileo’s heliocentrism was because the vast majority of other scientists didn’t agree with him: you know, the “scientific consensus.”]

But Galileo thought he was right, and IDists think they’re right.

So what’s the difference? I mean, other than science that produces results. IDists clearly don’t worry about that!
