  1. Frankie:  And set subtraction supports my claim pertaining to infinite sets. It is the same reasoning Cantor used to describe different infinities

    …then later….

Frankie:  dazz, Cantor is not God- he is a fallible human who didn’t know anything about relativity nor did he seem to understand that infinity is a journey.

Set subtraction is all I need to show that Cantor was wrong. So just repeating what he said isn’t going to help anyone.

    bonus fun

Frankie:  Also saying that all countable and infinite sets have the same cardinality is a meaningless claim and has no practical use. So what is the point of even making a counter-intuitive claim like that?

  2. As predicted dazz is too much of a fucktard to understand simple explanations. And dazz is too simple to actually make a case.

  3. Frankie,

What are some applications of the concept of cardinality?

“This is more computability theory than complexity theory, but it’s a fairly straightforward example.
A computer program (formally, a Turing machine) is represented as a finite string of characters. Therefore there can only be countably many different programs.
A function f mapping strings to strings (or integers or whatever) is computable if there’s some program that takes an input x and outputs f(x) after some finite number of steps. However, the set of all functions mapping strings to strings is uncountable, so there must be some functions that are not computable.
Also, diagonalization arguments (inspired by Cantor’s proof that R is uncountable) come up a lot in computability and complexity theory. (For example, in complexity you can prove the time and space hierarchy theorems by diagonalization.)
Another fun fact, due to oracle machines and relativization, diagonalization is unlikely to be sufficient to prove that P ≠ NP.”

  4. Joe. Your refusal to accept the challenge tells me that you are both fucking retarded, and also you know you are fucking retarded. Great job, thanks for playing

  5. Richie retard strikes again- I did NOT ask for applications of cardinality. Mine was a very specific claim which Richie’s link didn’t even address.

  6. dazz you are a cowardly fuckwit- I am arguing against Cantor- I know what he said and I disagree with it. So finding someone who agrees with Cantor doesn’t mean anything, dumbass.

Obviously you are a brainless punk

  7. Joey disagrees with Cantor, who used his same reasoning to describe different infinities.

Joey disagrees with Joey, the helpless retard

  8. spazz:

if we were to ask that question at quora, or askamathematician.com, would you accept the answer given by some unknown, impartial expert who really knows what Cantor said? I know I would.

Of course you would. You don’t have the ability to think for yourself. It seems that you also don’t understand that infinity is a journey. Go ask Oleg T he will educate you seeing that you won’t take my word for it

  9. dazz,

Watch out Dazz – guess who said “I live electronics and have designed sine wave generators.”?

  10. Frankie: I stand up to bullies, loser. That doesn’t make me a bully. You and yours try to bully

tell us what happened at Stratus, Joe.

  11. dazz: I’m back to ignoring your sorry ass, poor little fuckwad

    When, lol!

dazz: I’m back to ignoring your sorry ass, poor little fuckwad, whenever I actually decide to to get back to ignoring your sorry ass, poor little fuckwad, whenever I actually decide to to get back to ignoring your sorry ass, poor little fuckwad, whenever I actually decide to to get back to …

Sure, whenever. Just not now. Right?

  12. Mung: When, lol!

dazz: I’m back to ignoring your sorry ass, poor little fuckwad, whenever I actually decide to to get back to ignoring your sorry ass, poor little fuckwad, whenever I actually decide to to get back to ignoring your sorry ass, poor little fuckwad, whenever I actually decide to to get back to …

Let the kids have some fun! I’m doing a good job as of late at ignoring FMM, after repeatedly saying I would ignore him and failing to do it.

  13. dazz: Let the kids have some fun! I’m doing a good job as of late at ignoring FMM, after repeatedly saying I would ignore him and failing to do it.

    🙂

  14. Mung: I’m back to ignoring dazz!

You do that everytime you can’t answer questions

    Mung:
    I’m back to ignoring dazz!

    whenever …

    LMFAO!

You know full well Joe is dead wrong, but you side with him. Is that the kind of mod we need here?

  15. dazz: You know full well Joe is dead wrong, but you side with him. Is that the kind of mod we need here?

Joe could be dead wrong. How have I sided with him? Yes, this site needs mods that apply the rules equally.

  16. By omission and for picking on me on tangents like why I’m not ignoring Joe after saying I would

  17. My specific claim which Richie retard’s link did not address:

Also saying that all countable and infinite sets have the same cardinality is a meaningless claim and has no practical use. So what is the point of even making a counter-intuitive claim like that?

    Try again, loser

  18. We know that evolutionism is dead wrong and all but one mod endorses it. Strange that spazz doesn’t complain about that

  19. FrankenJoe: “Acartia- you are right- you are best ignored…”

Yet you respond. Obviously you can’t even follow your own advice.

You talk about me refusing to admit I am wrong…”

No, I was making a simple statement of fact. You can prove me wrong by simply linking to an instance when you have done so.

…yet you spew bullshit as if it means something. Then when called on it you just bluff some more.”

Sorry FrankenJoe, there are plenty of incidents where I have been wrong and where I have admitted it. Would you like me to link to one?

  20. Can you imagine how fucking funny Tom English must be at Comic-con every year? All dressed up as Apollo, with Richard begging to play Midnighter, but Tom refuses because of the man boobs, then Richard goes and gets wasted on White Russians and ends up puking on Wonder Woman trying to make Tom jealous while he is dry humping Iron Man.

All is forgiven in the end, but oh man, the stories they must have!

  21. Mung:
Acartia has his eye on where the muscle beach sign is pointing.

His patella? You have some pretty strange fetishes. Where’s his purse? It must be very small.

  22. Acartia: His patella? You have some pretty strange fetishes. Where’s his purse? It must be very small.

    Maybe that is his purse.

  23. Mung:
Acartia will be forever known for his dogged pursuit of Barry’s purse.

Mung will be forever known for the tiny parts of him residing in Barry’s purse.

  24. The problem with the usual bunch of science denialists here isn’t that they’re not open to the evidence–if they were, they’d not be IDists/creationists. OK, that’s a sort of problem, but where there’s no solution there’s no tractable problem, at least.

The problem is that they’re such boring and repetitive morons. They don’t learn, not even to come up with new BS. They just repeat the same incredibly stupid shit all the more in response to having it shot down. Not even learning to couch their pseudoscience in new and more sciency ways, they just blunder on repeating stupid claims, like that DNA repair is a design concept, or that biology follows design concepts.

It’s like FMM and his mindless BS, no one really cares about such ridiculous and unsupported nonsense. But after hearing it for the hundredth time without any improvement or reasonable evidence, it suddenly makes sense.

    Well, no.

    Glen Davidson

  25. GlenDavidson: The problem is that they’re such boring and repetitive morons.

Some time ago I created a bot using Markov chains and the comment history from UD. For some commenters it came up with text that you would assume was not a conglomeration of pieces of sentences stuck together. The ramblings of the ignorant can be sliced and diced and stuck back together again like a sea sponge and it’s remains as information rich as it started with. I.E. none at all.

  26. Glen has no interest in discussion nor in holding to the rules of this site or honoring Elizabeth’s wishes. Back on Ignore. Good way to start off 2017!

BA77, yes, information is its own physical entity. Its presence in coded form also has some pretty serious implications. KF”

    Utter fucking gibberish

  28. keiths: I take care to make my criticisms accurate…

You’re full of shit. Your criticisms are far too often vague and non-specific and indistinguishable from a gratuitous personal insult. Hell, I can even admit that I have lots to learn, and the best you can come up with is that I need to learn “the basics.”

  29. keiths: What were you saying about people who don’t know what they’re talking about?

You really can’t help yourself, can you. Help is available. Seek help.
