Sandbox (4)

Sometimes very active discussions about peripheral issues overwhelm a thread, so this is a permanent home for those conversations.

I’ve opened a new “Sandbox” thread as a post as the new “ignore commenter” plug-in only works on threads started as posts.

  1. J-Mac: How much money can you bet on your beliefs?

    I bet my life. Already.

The question is not whether the vaccine had adverse effects, but whether the virus had greater effects. I’m pretty sure the overwhelming percentage of people have had covid.

  2. There is an issue facing the world that seems appropriate to a forum that originally discussed evolution.

That topic is demographics. Population decline.

Say what? At 16.3 per thousand over all, the 2023 birth rate is TWICE the death rate (7.6), according to ourworldindata.org.
I do think that, within the first world, people are evolving to become stupider, but that does not appear to be what you are complaining about.

  4. For some reason the quote function when replying now works for me again. I don’t know if Alan did something to the Forum software, if there is some background change on my PC, or if the planets are aligned again, but in any case I can quote people again. Win 🙂

  5. faded_Glory,

This is why it’s working now. Alan, on the Moderation Issues thread:

Just noticed the “quote comments” plugin was disabled. I don’t recall disabling it myself though my memory is not what it was. Have reactivated it for now but anyone post a comment here if reactivating creates an issue.

How do I cash your “life” if you are wrong?

    You must be joking…

  8. Alan Fox: Pathogens such as Yersinia pestis have already been used in biological warfare.

The specific issue here is whether the RNA sequences in coronaviruses that translate into changes in the spike protein that make it suitable as a biological weapon can be artificially modified in the lab and whether this was happening in Wuhan.

Seems more likely to me, if that was someone’s goal, that selective breeding would get you there more quickly and more simply.

Used? I used my tennis racket in golfing. Some people used shovels. Can you see the problem? How effective those tools were?

  9. I’ve have overheard that the convid-19 “vaccines” are actually failed gene therapies if such a thing is even possible…

  10. RFK Jr. is purging the CDC “vaccine” advisory nonsense… What is going to change?
I’m just wondering when he is going to apply the knowledge he clearly has that convid-19 was a scam with seasonal flu like symptoms were replaced by convid-19?
