TSZ simply cannot afford to give unnecessary powers to immature, grudge-nursing people like Alan and Neil.

Perhaps that’s the problem. How much is TSZ worth? Should it become a subscription service rather than a service envisaged, created, and paid for by Lizzie and administered voluntarily by people she appointed to act with her full authority in her absence?
Puzzles me who Keiths is addressing here. Keiths is a free agent. Keiths is welcome to contact Lizzie directly if he has complaints that he feels admins are not addressing. Keiths is also welcome to vote with his feet and set up a system more to his liking and where he can exercise all the control or lack of it that he wishes.
Lizzie built it. People came.
Keiths is welcome to build something better! (or at least something else.)
If only keiths spent half the effort he spends complaining about this blog on making something better …

The points you are making are just as goofy as they were the first n times you made them:
1) Waaah, I’m not being paid.
2) If you don’t like my moderation, complain to Lizzie.
3) If you don’t like my moderation, set up your own site.
I’ve addressed each of those multiple times.

And regarding #3, why would I start a new site? The solution is not to abandon TSZ; it’s to make TSZ better.
Incompetence and abuses by you and Neil are TSZ’s biggest remaining problem. I’ve called attention to that fact, and I’ve made a proposal for eliminating the problem.
Under my proposal, you and Neil would still perform administrative tasks such as fishing comments out of the spam queue, but you’d be unable to indulge your personal grudges by abusing your power to guano comments. Everyone (except you) would win.
Meanwhile, neither you nor Neil have given valid reasons a) why the J-Mac censorship scheme is still in place, and b) why my comment, which doesn’t violate the rules, remains guanoed.
Lizzie created this thread so that moderators would be answerable for their actions. Let’s hear your answers.
And just a hint: “Because I can, Keiths” is not a valid answer.

I think it is a fantastic idea! I love it and I’m all for it.
I am pretty sure that many subscription websites grant one access to the content one is looking for… It would be great for many here, especially Harshman and the rest of the trinity who insist that they only want to read content that supports their beliefs… Where else are you going to find a discussion blog with the content with “the truth” as you see it and as you want to hear it?

Exactly right. Put that pathological whiner in his place. I don’t see Keiths comments about moderation as trying to improve things around here, he’s just whining. Whining doesn’t usually improve the what goes on.

I don’t like the way you’re treating Alan and Neil and some others here. The way you interact with people sucks. You want to be in a community where people disagree with each other, that’s fine, but the way you conduct yourself when you’re shown to be wrong, you’re eagerness to save face, etc. Is off putting.
There lots of people I don’t get along with here, but I don’t stalk them and troll them in the obsessive way that you do. What you write usually doesn’t bother me since the ignore button came about and I can switch off the Keiths channel anytime.
On the other hand, you seem to take some joy in making Alan miserable. Assume for the sake of argument you’re right about him, then what? Your behavior inspires the image of a patron visiting a museum every day and saying “this place sucks” when he had the freedom and means to go elsewhere and even make his own museum.
You want to talk politics, philosophy, religion, science, you can do so without getting yourself guanoed so frequently.
Anyway, you’re back on my ignore list. Waste more hours of your life saying stuff to me that I won’t bother reading.

The (obvious) reason I’m complaining about Alan and Neil is that they’re moderators who are abusing their privileges. The J-Mac censorship fiasco, and the guanoing of a non-rule-violating comment, are only the latest two in a long history of abuses.
TSZ is a valuable venue, and it’s very much worth defending against moderator incompetence and abuses.
Of course, if you think that this sort of behavior by a moderator can be defended, then knock yourself out. You’ll look foolish trying.
FWIW, I’ll bet Lizzie would sell this domain to keiths or anybody else for a very nominal fee.

Now I have to admit I never viewed the picture that got Joe G banned so I can’t make any comparison. But I thought he didn’t even post a picture, he only posted a link.
Now, as someone who used to be hooked on porn, I’ve always appreciated that particular rule here at TSZ. But I’m sure we can think up good reasons why Rumraket ought not be banned. I mean, posting an actual picture instead of just a link has to be an exonerating circumstance. He wasn’t trying to hide what it was. That has to count for something.

I think perhaps Alan was taken into consideration the relative size of the anus and vagina, in relation to the rest of the image.
Its sort of like the rule he made up once about how an insult was okay, because it was really just a footnote to a more content laden post. The insult wasn’t the majority of the post.
