    Second, you did guano the comment based on the single word “pointlessly.” A second comment with only the word “pointlessly” redacted remains in the thread.

    Or if she wants readers who desire moderation to have access to it, then it could be implemented as a subscription service, as I’ve suggested before.

    Those like Patrick and I, who don’t want someone else filtering what we read, would opt out entirely. Others could opt in and choose their moderators from among all the commenters. Under this scheme, the only people subjected to Alan and Neil’s dipshittery would be those who unwisely chose them as moderators — a choice that could be reversed when its foolishness became apparent.

    You need to look up the word “integrity” to understand what it means. I suggest you look up “non-sequitur” as well.

    I agree that it is marginally within Lizzie’s rule about keeping discussion of moderation issues in Moderation Issues. I do not, however, endorse Neil’s action. I don’t think it improved the site and it predictably resulted in more meta-discussion.

    Not even that. The single word “pointlessly” had been redacted. All that was left was a link to the guanoed comments, which is perfectly within the rules. There is no justification for moving that comment to Guano.

    Neil knows this, as does Alan. Neil guanoed the comment out of spite, not because it violated any rules. Alan supports this, of course, because he too has impulse control problems that lead him to abuse his powers as a moderator.

    They’re supposed to be acting on behalf of TSZ, according to Lizzie’s rules. Instead they’re abusing their moderator privileges for their own personal benefit, making TSZ worse in the process.

    How did we end up with these two man-children as moderators?

    Indeed it did. It questioned a moderation decision. Moderation issues should be discussed in the appropriate thread – moderation issues. The benefit to TSZ is it avoids derailing and cluttering other threads.
