Liam Conejo Arias, the 5-year-old detained by ICE while returning home from school with his father. They were sent to a detention center in Texas. A judge eventually ordered their release. In his ruling, the judge wrote:

The case has its genesis in the ill-conceived and incompetently implemented government pursuit of daily deportation quotas, apparently even if it requires traumatizing children…

Observing human behaviour confirms that for some among us, the perfidious lust for unbridled power and the imposition of cruelty in its quest know no bounds and are bereft of human decency.

  2. Upon re-reading I noticed that I managed to mangle the winner’s name. Her name is Carol Guzy. It is correct in the image credit.

  3. keiths: …daily deportation quotas…

When ICE is working to fulfil quotas, they are working to fulfil quotas, not deporting illegals. Quotas are not illegals. The prosecution should take up the issue of quotas.

  4. The Trump administration will accelerate the deportations of migrant children in US custody. Immigration hearings are being expedited by weeks or even months, which makes it more difficult for attorneys to obtain immigration relief for these kids. Children as young as four years old are being forced to repeatedly appear in court and provide updates on the status of their case, sometimes without legal help.
