The Rules can be found there so anyone with an issue should check that they are familiar with them.

  1. Patrick: As you’re aware, I tend to lean far to the side of free expression. I only Guano comments that contain content-free name calling, particularly when vulgarity is involved.

    I’m not that fussy about vulgarity (heh), maybe fusser about other stuff, but sounds like you are basically on the same page as me.

    I try to evaluate the people I usually agree with a bit harder than those I disagree with, to avoid bias. That could be my own confirmation bias speaking, though. Perhaps I remember Guano’ing Alan Fox more than Frankie.

    It could be mine as well – I’m more aware of guanoing people I agree with, so may be it’s an illusion that I do it more.

    But adapa seems to be the main target of my moves.

    I do like the idea of roping in an ID proponent as an additional admin.

    The admin ‘Patrick’ is one of the saddest of human beings I’ve witnessed. He simply doesn’t know what he doesn’t know and DOESN’T CARE to know it.

    What I post about KN is oftentimes simply a repeat of what he directly says here. Those words are not being put into his mouth. He says them himself, in his particular sugar-coated disenchanted philosophistic ex-religious (but not really sure, maybe Buddhist) atheist way.

    If you have an aversion for those who simply quote people or repeat to them what they say at TAMSZ, then by all means, be upset by what I post. It’s your prerogative to complain as loud and obnoxiously as you can, Neil! I really don’t care in the slightest what you think of me. You have demonstrated time and time again both inability and unwillingness to embrace humanity in an inspiring and meaningful way. You are one of the bottom-feeders here at TAMSZ. So what? There are too many wonderful people in this world than to waste time on the atheist-only admins of TAMSZ! 😉

    Not that I think it’s lacking, tbh – we guano very little, on the whole. Maybe there should be more not less, but I’m happier with erring on the lax side.

    What on earth are you talking about, Richardthughes?

    Yes, a while back when I first returned to TSZ I added a comment of my own to a post made by someone else. I apologized for that and haven’t done it since.

    As far as editing, afiak we can’t even edit our own OP’s any more. That power was taken away after someone not named Mung mistakenly assumed that merely requesting that a post be moderated caused it to be deleted from the thread.

    Has Alan restored that functionality to us mere mortals?

    I was wrong then, to say that Mung changed his OP.

    I apologize to Mung for having done so, as well as to anyone else who drew unfair conclusions due to my mistake.

  32. I think those who support the moderators must be asked before moving posts theory, should respond to my questions about that suggestion. They may be found on the preceding page of comments. As indicated there, I don’t have a clear idea of what is actually being suggested.

  33. I am releasing comments by Frankie, when I see them in the moderation queue. I first do a quick inspection, to make sure there are no obvious violations of the rules.

    Though I have to click “approve” to release them, that does not imply that I approve the content of those comments.

  40. I have released one phoodoo comment from the moderation queue. I’ll leave the other for Patrick or another moderator to decide. Perhaps it could be released to guano.

    I also released a comment by another member. I’m not sure why that was in moderation. If that was a mistake, the author can indicate and I’ll undo that action.

    Secondly, an intelligent discussion is not possible, when jerk offs like Richard are allowed to derail conversations, and not be admonished (even when I asked Alan directly to remove the off topics ad hominen remarks he refused to do so!) and then you have Patrick, who is unqualified to be a moderator of any kind, uses his fascist power to ONLY censor those he disagrees with.

    I’m pretty sure that would have been allowed here in Moderation Issues – although it’s still a garbage comment – but in main thread it’s Guano.

  46. Given the inability of all claimants to produce their so called “objective” morality it seems they are attempting to demonstrate it in action by whining about the policies of a board they are free to not use.

    That was me, phoodoo. If you have a query or complaint about moderation, please make it here and make sure to include a link to the relevant comment.

    I’m finding it no longer possible to keep up with the activity at the site (we average around 600 unique visitors a day currently), so anyone who needs admin input needs to flag it. The PM system is good for this as alerts are sent by email and show up when logging in. Please include a link.

    Me either. I just came in to take phoodoo out of moderation and discuss the situation. I see that someone has already done the first.

    Last night I was browsing before a late dinner and moved a couple of phoodoo’s comments to Guano. By the time I finished catching up, there were a couple of more. This kept going for a few iterations and I realized s/he wasn’t going to stop. Rather than come back in the morning to find much more of the same, I put her/his comments in moderation with the intention of changing it back this morning.

    No comments lost, just a chance for the admins to keep up with the flood of Guano.

    I can see arguments both ways. If Lizzie thinks I overstepped, I will apologize.
